Face covering for patients

In line with upcoming guidance for hospitals and public transport, we're asking that all patients have face coverings when they come to the surgery.  This doesn't have to be a mask, a scarf or bandana will be OK.  πŸ˜·πŸ‘πŸ™‚πŸ˜·

Rest assured that our staff will continue to be in full PPE for all patients. Also we ask you to wait in your car until the doctor or nurse calls you in so you'll not meet any other patients or staff.

Hoax Emails

Please be aware that some people are receiving emails that pretend to be sent from us or other GP practices in Bradford.   Some of the emails will copy the subject of a genuine email that you might have sent in the past.

The emails contain a link that says "Read Message". These are hoaxes. Please do not click on the link.

If you have clicked on the link and provided any information about yourself please make sure you reset any passwords associated with the information you provided.

We do not normally send emails to patients.  Please do contact us if you are concerned about an email that appears to have  been sent from us.

This matter is being investigated by NHS Digital.

High Risk Patients

We've had calls from patients asking about support for those classed as being at high risk.  The NHS is identifying those people and writing to them directly this week.

The letter contains advice on how to protect yourself if you are in a high risk group.  You should socially distance yourself for 12 weeks.

You can read that advice here --> https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/covid-19-guidance-on-social-distancing-and-for-vulnerable-people/guidance-on-social-distancing-for-everyone-in-the-uk-and-protecting-older-people-and-vulnerable-adults

Making an appointment

We have changed our appointment booking system to reduce the risk of coronavirus transmission.  Please DO NOT come to the surgery to ask for an appointment, we will no longer give appointments to those who arrive at the door.  This is for your safety.

We now use a "total triage" or "telephone first" system for those requesting GP appointments.

Anyone requesting a GP appointment will be called by a doctor because many problems can be resolved without needing to come to the surgery.  The doctor who calls you can give you a traditional face to face appointment if one is needed.

Request prescriptions online

Did you know you can view your medication and request prescriptions online?   There's no need to come to the surgery.

Just create an NHS login online and you won't need to the surgery to get it set up.
We recommend the "Airmid UK" app which is part of the Systm1 software we use for our clinical records.

Apple App here --> https://apps.apple.com/gb/app/airmid-uk/id1472749780
Android App here --> https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=px.mw.android.aihealth.patient.live.production&hl=en
You can also use other apps approved by the NHS but they might have less integration with your medical records.

Mother's Day - Social Distancing

Happy Mother's Day!  It's a lovely spring day, but this year please put the flowers and chocolates on the doorstep to keep your relatives safe.

Many families use Skype/Facetime/etc to have a virtual Sunday lunch together so grandparents can still keep in touch and enjoy your company.

Exercise - Social Distancing

It's great to see people getting fresh air and exercise at the weekend, it's so important to keep healthy at the moment.

However, many people can have the virus and not notice the symptoms so please only go for a walk with people in your household so you don't pass the virus onto someone else.
